David Khafagi, BMusHons (QCM & Adelaide)

David Khafagi is an accomplished trumpet player, and an experienced arts administrator who is active in the Adelaide arts scene. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium, with Honours from the Elder Conservatorium, and has studied privately in Tasmania, under Yoram Levy, and in Munich, Germany, with Professor Hannes Laeubin. David has performed with the Adelaide, Queensland, Tasmanian and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras, and maintains an active involvement in the freelance and community music scenes in Adelaide.

David is also an experienced arts administrator, currently holding the position of Production Coordinator at the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, where he has worked in various roles for the past decade. His interest in arts management began when he was studying in Tasmania and was employed as a casual Operations Assistant at the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, and he was employed in a similar role at the Queensland Symphony Orchestra on his return to Brisbane. In 2017 David was honoured to act as the Orchestral Management Tutor at the Australian Youth Orchestra National Music Camp, held at the University of Adelaide.
